Khourjeen/Bolesht Bags
Khourjeen - Donkey Bags

The Khourjeen is a bag made in jointed pairs, either knotted and piled, or flat-woven. It is often called a 'donkey bag' though it is usually carried by a man over the shoulder. They are made throughout Afghan Turkestan and Belouchistan we have the pairs separated out and they are normally used as mats, bags or cushion covers.

Bolesht - Pillow Bags

The Belouch and other tribes, including some Pashtuns (now settled in Northern Afghanistan) make Belouchi weavings, such as a rectangular bag called a Bolesht, or pillow bag. The face is piled and the back flat-woven, often with bands of colour. The fastening loops are normally made of horsehair. They are used as cushions in tents, as well as in permanent dwellings.
