Country & Eastern is housed in a Victorian Skating Rink located in the heart of Norwich adjacent to the Forum Millennium Building and the Market Square.
This unique listed building has been imaginatively restored by the owners Jeannie & Philip Millward and houses dramatic displays of our interesting and unusual ranges of oriental rugs, textiles, traditional and antique furniture, ceramics, lighting, wood carvings, clothes and accessories and decorative objects - all directly imported from countries extending from Turkey through the Indian subcontinent to East of Java.
One of Country and Eastern's main objectives is to help in the funding of the South Asian Decorative Arts and Crafts Collection Trust which is affiliated to the University of East Anglia (UEA) through the Sainsbury Institute for Art (SIfA). The Trust holds regular exhibitions based on its collection of around 4000 items and pouts on lectures, funds educational and travel scholarships and maintains a reference library and study area.
